Champion juicers are made by an American company called Plastaket that are based in California. They make masticating juicers that produce rich, full bodied fruit and vegetable juices. There are different kinds of juicers on sale today including citrus presses, centrifugal juicers like the Breville BJE200XL, twin gear juicers such as the Green Star GS-1000 and masticating appliances like the Champion G5-PG-710. This article will focus on the Champion juicers. Specifically, are they any good?
Plastaket have been making Champion juicers since 1955 so they are a well established firm and have grown to quite a large size. Masticating juicers like these are fairly easy to use. They may not be quite as fast as centrifugal juicers to operate. Indeed the speed of the machine is much slower but this has some advantages. Masticating juicers are probably a bit less damaging to the nutrients and enzymes contained within the juice they extract because they do not transfer as much heat to the liquid as centrifugal juicers. To some, this makes them better kitchen appliances.
The good thing about the Champion is that you can continue to juice without ever really having to empty the unit. This is one of the things that you may have to do with a centrifugal juicer. But masticating and twin gear juicers simply continue to eject the dry pulp from which they have extracted the juice. This means that you can just keep on juicing and making great tasting health drinks until you have used up all the fruit and vegetables you have.
Using a Champion juicer is fairly easy and these appliances can actually be used for more than just jucing. Did you know that there are other attachments that come in the package? So with one of these machines you are able to make things like sauces, baby foods, fruit smoothies and process things like nuts.
