Green Star GS-1000 Review

Whether or not you buy a Green Star GS-1000 is a decision that only you can make. In this review I want to outline some of the features that this machine has and compare its operation with that of centrifugal juicers. They are completely different in the way and speed that they work so it is important to know which sort of juicing appliance is best for your own specific needs.

There are a wide range of different juicers that can be used in the home. For example there are citrus juicers, wheat grass juicers, masticating juicers, centrifugal juicers and twin gear juicers. Each have their own advantages and draw backs. Firstly I shall talk about the positive aspects of the Green Star GS-1000.

This machine is a top of the range juicing device. It operates at low speeds which is beneficial to the quality of drink that is made. The low speed means that the unit will not raise the temperature of the juice very much at all. This is beneficial as it means that the nutrients, vitamins, minerals and enzymes contained within the drink will not be damaged during the production of your health drink. This means that the goodness contained within the drink will be available to your body. The twin gears of this machine spin at a slow 110 RPM. Compared to centrifugal juicers, for instance, this is much slower.

However, while the quality of the juice is supposedly better if you buy a Green Star GS-1000 there are some drawbacks. It takes longer to set up, use, take apart and clean than centrifugal juicing appliances. For some of us, speed of use is a very important issue. So you have to ask yourself whether the nutritional benefit that this device can give you is worth the extra time that it takes to use. This really depends upon your own individual circumstances.

Drinking fruit and vegetable is great for our health so it would be a good thing if we can get a at least one juicing appliance whether a GS-1000 or a cheaper machine like the Breville BJE200XL for instance.
